SD4Health’s use cases empower you to select, analyze, visualize, and securely share, store or archive your data with ease.

Main Use Cases

Bento

Bento is a flexible, open-source platform designed to simplify the creation and management of genomic data portals. By adopting industry-standard APIs and schemas, Bento ensures seamless interoperability with diverse research communities worldwide. Its modular architecture and reusable components streamline the development process, reducing the time and effort required to build and maintain data distribution portals. Successful projects like BQC19 and ICHANGE have leveraged Bento’s capabilities to create effective and efficient data sharing solutions.

GenPipes on HPC in the Cloud

SD4H users can request computational resources with GenPipes pre-installed. GenPipes is a versatile Python-based workflow manager created at the C3G focused on streamlining the creation and execution of multi-stage bioinformatics pipelines tailored for High-Performance Computing clusters and cloud environments. It currently includes ten proven and scalable pipelines for diverse genomics applications, such as RNA-seq, whole-genome sequencing (WGS), whole-exome sequencing (WES), ChIP-Seq, and Amplicon sequencing.

CQDG Portal

The CQDG Portal is a platform that provides researchers with access to genomic data from the Quebec Genomic Data Center. It allows them to explore, analyze, and perform online analytics on this data. The portal also offers a cloud computing facility for researchers to execute analytics on the center’s datasets.

C3G

The Canadian Centre for Computational Genomics (C3G) is a leading bioinformatics facility that provides advanced computational tools and resources to researchers in the life sciences. It offers a wide range of services, including data analysis, software development, and high-performance computing. C3G plays a crucial role in advancing genomic research by enabling scientists to efficiently process and analyze large-scale biological datasets. Its expertise and infrastructure are essential for driving discoveries in fields such as personalized medicine, disease genetics, and drug development.
